In the window
There is nothing better than Friday afternoon!! Don't get me wrong. I love what I do every day but, there is just something about the weekend, the endless hours of doing nothing, waking up late, eating all the meals with that special someone and the late night movies :)
Today's illustration is here too. Love how the blue bird turned out. I'm also working on another illustration with strings of pearls around this little fella.
On another note, Vibha (a non profit I volunteer for) is organizing a Chess and Table Tennis Tournament here in Atlanta. I completed designing this flier for them today. I had never done a flier before so it was challenging and fun! I'm going to get better with a little practice.

Kitchen window
My week was filled with love, snow, unending bouts of sneezing , runny nose, marvels of nature and lots of hot milk and turmeric(it really works for cold). How was yours?
It all began when Poorvi pinged me last weekend with "It's snowing outside!". We played in the snow... I caught cold... Tarun fussed over me (I know perfect V-day ) and finally we went to Ruby falls. It is a breathtaking waterfall inside a mountain! We forgot our camera in the car so not many pictures to share.

I was also working on a series of illustrations... light filled rooms with windows, a few random bottles and some general calm.
This is the first of the series. It's called Kitchen window.

Love bird
Friday is almost here! Hubby has to work over the weekend so no out of town trips for us this V day. But something fun is definitely on cards. Happy V day to all of you! Have fun :)
I shipped out these two orders today. One order was sent with a thank you note on a heart doily with a red string.
The second was sent with a note written on the back of a commissioned portrait business card.
See you on Monday!!

Brewed Love
Right outside my undergrad design school was this chai wala (loose translation - tea shop). He used to make and serve tea in a burnt, black gray ketely (loose translation - tea pot). Just the fragrant steam from the spout was sometimes enough to break our lecture induced daze.
Capturing the memory here with this "Brewed Love" illustration.
Here are some more pictures of my work space. I love to surround myself with bright colors. Current favorites are red, yellow and green, in the same order. For some strange reason I have developed an aversion for blue. Well for the time being anyway.

Smitten
Happy February everyone! I just love this month, don't you?
This month begins with a little experiment with potatoes. This batch of potatoes had eyes all over. I sliced a part with a bunch of germinating eye buds hoping for it to grow like carrot tops do.
Love mustache like roots and the tinge of purple!!
Back to today's illustration. This one is a deer (and a hot one with red antlers ) instead of a bird.

One look at her and Mr. Antler is smitten!
This is the large window, covering one whole wall of my studio. There is so much natural light in this room that I never have to use any additional lighting for photography. Just the camera set on Hi light.
