Go murphy!

I'm back from the most interesting adventure of my life! The show was a fantastic experience. Meeting buyers face to face is so thrilling!! The in shop sales were dismal but the fellow sellers and the sense of community was magical! I assumed that there would be a sense of competition amongst the sellers but all I found was warm camaraderie, willingness to help and tons of good-natured humor.

My search for a decent canopy has begun again. The brand new caravan canopy got damaged on the second day of the show. All Ez-ups and other under $200 canopy stood well in the wind and one of the metal leg of our canopy snapped!! (really!). It was a huge nuisance (lots of cursing and hammering) to fold back the damaged canopy.

Here are some pictures of the setup. It was extremely windy and the billowing walls kept knocking down the display. So we ended up taking down the walls and the the art hanging from the wall.

Now some other happy news. "Cuddle Please" was on the front page of Etsy today!! yay!

A happy update

Last week was a roller coster of emotions that ended really well! Everything lined up magically and I'm doing the craft show!! YAY!!!

I really really want to thank all of you girls for the support and encouragement. A big hug to all of you.

It's in 3 days time and I'm ecstatic! My little sis is flying in from San Jose to help with the show and Poorvi is making something very special for the booth (Something really exciting in the making, will share it with you guys soon! I'm soooooo excited!)

Give up or Get going?

Do you ever feel like giving up?

I'm walking through a tough stretch and almost feel like giving up. The craft show that I told you guys about in this post is not going to happen after all. :(

EDIT - (Hubby suggested I take down the gory details. It could cause more trouble.)

What keeps me going are the tiny slivers of joy that come out of creating something beautiful that brings a smile, inspire or just warms up the heart.

Today's illustration was created last weekend without knowing how very appropriate it would turn out be.

Chirpy spring

Guess what made me super duper happy today? Pink flower laden trees!!

Well, early today morning I was driving by the tennis court and was pleasantly surprised to see a bunch of trees all covered with blooming pink flowers. They were all brown and bare a few days back! This is going to be my first spring in Atlanta and I can hardly wait :)

On another note, I'm having so much fun with the Buntings In Spring series that I created and listed another one over in my Etsy shop. It's called Chirpy spring.

Spring Fiesta sold overnight so I thought I will create another one. This one is called Spring bunting :)

Spring Fiesta

Its a good 72 degrees outside and it feels like spring is already here. Clear blue skies, warm sunny days, fragrant blossoms, picnic basket and of course buntings!! A bunting always makes it feel like spring :)

Yesterday we made a bunch of colorful paper buntings for the booth and figured my little birdy pals could use some too.

So here is a little birdie grabbing in its beak one end of a paper bunting, with the other end tied to the tree.

So how are you all doing? Is everything going well this week?

Apart from today's fun illustration I wanted to share some special pictures you all. I'm scheduled to do the Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival on March 27-28, 2010 at the Georgia International Horse Park . This is going to be my first show and I'm excited, perplexed and afraid all at the same time. I'm going to be at #334. Drop by and say hello if you are participating or attending :)

We did a trial run today morning and here are some of the pictures.

Its a Caravan Canopy from Costo. It was pretty easy to set up. Between me and Tarun we were able to set it up with ease. Some more stuff like easels for the larger artworks, sand bags and one more table are still in transit.



It was extremely windy and I smashed a vase and broke a large picture frame. Thankfully damages were budgeted for.

And here is today's illustration. Flying kites always make me happy. The people and kites themselves seem to be having so much fun!
