What I ate today - Spinach Ravioli in Arrabiata Sauce

We made Ravioli for dinner tonight. Not only did it taste wonderful it looked great too. I couldn't resist drawing it out for all of you to see.

I'm thinking of making this a regular feature on my blog. A daily illustration of 'what I ate today'. Hopefully I will have time to both cook and draw lunch/ dinner. I'm so excited about it already!!

We had the ravioli with a glass of chilled sweet tea. The gorgeous glass is from Pier1 imports. :)
Hope you all enjoy these posts/illustrations as much as I did creating them!!

  1. Hello Zaza,

I used the Spinach & Mozzarella Ravioli from Pasta Prima. Bought it from costco.

For Arrabiata sauce I used this recipe
    Ingredients
    •3 fresh tomatoes, crushed.
    •1 onion, finely minced
    •6 large fresh basil leaves
    •1 spoons of garlic paste
    •2 tablespoon olive oil
    •1 bay leaf
    •1 teaspoons red pepper powder.
    •1 teaspoon dried oregano
    •1 teaspoon salt
    •Black pepper to taste

Add oil to a heavy sauce pan heated to medium low and saute onions and garlic until soft. Add bay leaf, oregano, red pepper powder, salt, pepper and heat briefly with the onion and garlic. Add the crushed tomatoes and basil, heat to a simmer and continue to cook for 15 minutes. Taste for spice/salt and adjust accordingly.

    That's it. :)
