Amour

Hi there! I hope the beginning of this week is treating you well so far :)

I completed this illustration at the start of the month and I see my style shifting once again - I'm using words more frequently in my illustrations. This is something I began doing after working with words for some round  MOO stickers (Bunch of colorful stickers with one/ two word messages on them that turned out nice).  I have quiet a few word (and love!) illustrations lined up in the next few weeks. I'm going to try and space them out as much as I can. 

Sometimes it's more fun communicating through written words, than drawings :)

LOVE

Since, my sister and brother-in-law are visting us for a couple of days (yay!) I was looking at fun things to do/ see in and around Philly. The LOVE statue caught my attention. We have lived here for over a year and yet, I haven't gotten around to visting it or drawing it!

So what better time than now? As you can see I took some artistic liberties (read making it girly) with the letters and its color. A girl's gotta do what  a girl's gotta do :)

Rainbow Umbrella

As a child I had a rainbow umbrella hat, the kind that had an elastic headband to fit around my head. I remember running in the rain, jumping in puddles and croaking like a frog all the while wearing the umbrella over my head! 

In India, we love the rains. As soon as it starts to pour we all head out of our homes, either to go to the nearest scenic long drive or to sit on the verandah with the family and drink hot tea, eat spicy onion fritters and watch kids play in the rain.

I  believe the rain is just as beautiful as the rainbow.

When love comes down

Last evening Tarun and mom went grocery shopping. He came back with a sheepish smile holding a huge bunch of pale pink carnations!! Just like that! It's adorable how he does these spontaneous little things that make my day special. 

The loving wrist rubs he gives me in the middle of night, when he wakes up for a few seconds and sees me hunching over my laptop chasing some deadline, are just so incredible! I can never wrap my head around how he does that!

Bring me love

I'm so glad the weekend is almost here! It's going to be a beautiful weekend too! On saturday I'll get to see a bunch of friends and celebrate the 2 birthday of a very lovely boy. I haven't seen them for a few months and am really looking forward to spending some time catching up. 

And since, it's going to be super sunny, Saturday will also be prefect for a walk through Valley Forge National Park. It will be awesome!

Curacao blue is my new favorite color and I love how fabulous it looks paired with yellows and oranges.

Love is real

Can't believe its 5 PM already! Time just flew by today. It happens to me when I'm really engrossed in something. There are a bunch of interesting things in the pipeline this month. Will have some new and fabulous things to share pretty soon.
